The Eucharist is a supernatural reality that is hard to understand. Why did Jesus instruct us to consume his Body and Blood in order to have eternal life (John 6:54)? When we trace the story of salvation throughout Scripture, we’ll see how humankind fell into sin through a meal and how God planned to redeem us through another meal, culminating in the Last Supper and Crucifixion of Our Lord—as well as finding its fulfillment in the Mass today.
